Joy Broe’s Fortune II (Black),1990 is a layered mixed media composition that blends geometric abstraction with architectural motifs. The upper section features horizontal bands resembling decorative friezes in gray tones, while the lower triangular section presents a textured beige background enriched with intricate brown and purple designs. The interplay of shapes and textures creates a dynamic balance between architectural reference and abstract form.  The piece is mounted on a dark textured background, surrounded by a cream-colored mat with a thin lavender inner border, and enclosed in a dark wooden frame with a gold inner edge.
